How to Use
1. Start Small — Add the Red Oxide stainer to the base paint a little at a time — a small amount goes a long way.
2. Mix Thoroughly — Stir well until the colour is fully and evenly blended through the base paint.
3. Check the Shade — Test on a small area or scrap surface and let it dry, since wet colour can look darker than the dried, cured shade.
4. Adjust Gradually — Add more stainer in small increments and remix if a deeper shade is needed, rather than adding a large amount at once.
FAQ
Q: How much stainer should I add to a litre of paint? A: It depends on the depth of shade you want — add gradually and check against a dried test patch rather than following a fixed ratio.
Q: What is Red Oxide stainer best used for? A: It's used to tint water-based emulsions and enamel paints, distempers, and cement/lime-based finishes to a custom shade.
Q: Can I mix two stainer colours together? A: Universal stainers can generally be blended to create custom shades, but test on a small batch first to confirm the result before mixing into your full paint quantity.
