Compact Size Transitions Fitting Adaptation Residential Plumbing
Description

The Ashirvad CPVC Reducer Bushing allows a smaller diameter CPVC pipe or fitting to be fitted into a larger fitting socket, providing a compact and economical size transition. Crafted from durable CPVC material, it resists corrosion, chemicals and high temperatures, ensuring reliable long-term performance in residential and commercial plumbing systems.

  • COMPACT REDUCING FITTING — Fits a smaller pipe or fitting into a larger fitting socket for a compact size change.
  • SOLVENT-WELD JOINT — Joins with CPVC Solvent Cement.
  • ECONOMICAL ALTERNATIVE — A cheaper, more compact option than a full reducer coupler where space is tight.

How to Use

1. Cut & Deburr — Cut the CPVC pipe square with a hacksaw or pipe cutter, then deburr the edge and lightly chamfer it so it seats fully into the fitting.

2. Dry-Fit — Test-fit the pipe and fitting without cement to confirm alignment and depth before applying any adhesive.

3. Apply Solvent Cement — Apply Ashirvad CPVC Solvent Cement evenly to both the pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket.

4. Join & Hold — Push the pipe fully into the fitting with a quarter-turn, align it correctly, and hold for 30 seconds while the joint sets.

5. Cure Before Pressure Testing — Let the joint cure per the cement's instructions before pressurizing the line — usually a few hours for handling, longer for full pressure.

FAQ

Q: What's the difference between a reducer bushing and a reducer coupler?
A: A bushing is more compact and fits inside an existing larger socket — a coupler is a standalone two-ended fitting.
