The Havells Automatic Changeover Switch (ACCL) automatically switches your electrical load between mains and generator supply the moment mains power fails, so backup power kicks in without manual switch-flipping. It's a microcontroller-based unit built for homes and small offices running a generator as backup during outages.
Function: Automatic mains-to-generator load transfer with current limiting
Use: Backup power switching for homes/offices with a generator connection
Available capacities: Standard and Higher Capacity — pick based on your total generator backup load
Available Capacities
Standard — suited to typical home backup loads (a few lights, fans, and essential appliances).
Higher Capacity — suited to larger backup loads, such as multiple rooms or higher-draw appliances on generator supply.
How to Use
Have a licensed electrician install the ACCL between your mains supply, generator, and distribution board — this is a load-switching device and should be professionally wired.
Once installed, it automatically detects a mains failure and switches the load to the generator supply, and switches back once mains power is restored.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an electrician to install this? Yes, an ACCL sits between your mains, generator, and distribution board and should always be installed by a licensed electrician.
Which capacity should I choose? Match it to your total backup load — go with the Higher Capacity version if you're running more appliances on generator supply, or Standard for basic backup needs.
